KARACHI, PAKISTAN - JANUARY 2007: At most of  Edhi Centres, "Jhoolas" ( baby cradles) are installed beneath a sign reading, "Don't Kill" and "Leave the baby to live in the cradle", where unwanted infants can be left. Abandoned babies are then taken into custody and given shelter in Edhi Homes. Established  in 1947, Edhi Foundation is the biggest social welfare and a non-governmental organization in Pakistan. Working without any discrimination on the basis of colour, race, language, religion or politics, the Foundation provides social services such as medical care, emergency services, ambulances, burial services, mental habitats, orphanage, child welfare services, abused women safe houses and training facilities for the disadvantaged.
