The Sultanahmet Blue Mosque was built between 1609-1616 during the rule of Ahmed I. The infrastructure serves not as only a mosque, but as a hospice, a "madrasa" (religious school), and a tomb of the founder. Today it is a prominent tourist attraction in Istanbul, and known for its beautiful blue mosaics. The architecture is composed in the Ottoman-Byzantine style.

Au crepuscule, vue sur la mosquee bleue Sultanahmet, prise d'un ferry traversant le Bosphore. La mosquee bleue de Sultanahmet a ete construite a partir de 1609-1616 sous le regne de Ahmed I. Elle a egalement servi de centre de soins palliatifs, de "madrasa" (ecole religieuse), et de tombeau pour le fondateur. Aujourd'hui, c'est une attraction touristique de premier plan  connue pour ses belles mosaiques bleues et son architecture de style ottoman-byzantin.
